BookACrewe -Spring Cleaning 2021

Spring is just around the corner, which means it’s time to drag out your supplies for the dreaded, yearly deep clean. Cleaning your entire house from top to bottom can be troublesome when you realize how much work it truly entails. It only takes a single lost to-do list or an overwhelmed mind to forget everything that needs to be cleaned or fixed for the incoming warm weather. Fortunately for you, we’ve got your back.

Freshen up your house and your mind with these three things you shouldn’t forget to add to your lists this spring.

We understand that when the cold weather sets in, it can be difficult to find the motivation to keep your house in tip-top shape. No one wants to go out in below-freezing temperatures to clean up their roof, but now that warm weather is rolling in, it’s the perfect time to take care of the remnants of past seasons. Allowing leaves to rot on your roof can cause moisture to be trapped in your shingles, setting your home up for future problems like rotting wood or mold. With rainy season on the horizon, it’s important to make sure to clear your roof from fallen leaves and other types of debris.

  • Set-up your ceiling fan for success in Spring.

While you’re up there dusting your ceiling fans in preparation to turn them on to keep you cool this summer, make sure they are turning in the right direction. While there’s no wrong way for a fan to be turning, you can maximize your ceiling fan’s usefulness by making sure it’s working for you and not against you simply by changing the way it rotates. For the summer, your ceiling fan should be rotating counterclockwise. With this quick change, your fan will make the room feel colder than it is, meaning you can kick your air-conditioning up a notch and save yourself a high energy bill.

It might even be time to replace your ceiling fan altogether! Spring is all about new beginnings and starting over, and with all the cleaning you’re going to be doing, it’s important to reward yourself for your hard work. Replacing your fans is the perfect way to change up an old, tired space, and installing your new ceiling fan is as easy as a spring breeze.

  • Spring is the time to spruce up your backyard.

After spending months indoors because of the cold weather, warmer days are just on the horizon which means you’ll be spending more time outside. It’s the season for barbecues, nights by the fire, pool days, and pulling out your old tents to spend a night out under the stars. Since you’re going to be spending a lot of time in your backyard, it needs to look its absolute best. Raking leaves and mowing the lawns just won’t cut it: invest in some nice patio furniture or some landscaping to make your backyard look brand new.

Add some outdoor lighting to brighten up the place or add some mood lighting. Whether it’s decorative lanterns to light the pathways, string lights to top the trees, or citronella candles to keep the mosquitoes away, adding these illuminating fixtures can turn even a boring space into something you’ll want to spend a lot of time in.

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be all dusting and sweeping. Instead of thinking of it as something to dread, think of it as a time for refreshing old spaces into something new and upgrading old equipment to prepare for a fun-filled summer. Remember: it only happens once a year, so make sure you’re doing everything you can to make the most of it right now.
